The Good Farm Project has funded the following resources:
These are all free to download and attend.
The Good Farm Guide to Navigating Regulations covers most legislative requirements facing a farm business, including everything from freshwater to animal welfare to employment law.
The Guide’s goal is to bring you the best information we can in an accessible way, to help you know what you need to know. Read more about the Good Farm Guide Here.
If you prefer a hard copy, we have them available too!
These are in colour and come in a folder which makes it easy to find the topic you are looking for, as well as add your own notes and any updates. However, we aren’t able to post these out as they are quite large, so we need to sort out pick-up or drop off with you. For this, please fill out the form below:
Presented by Perrin Ag, these webinars aim to increase your confidence in navigating farm legislation by providing you with the information you need to know, where you can go for further information and support, and how you might assess your own on-farm compliance requirements. Information presented in the webinars draws from content developed in the Good Farm Guide to Navigating Regulations. We highly recommend you download a digital copy or get a physical copy of this resource guide to go through as you watch the webinar.
Each webinar was run live in May 2024, and recordings are available to view free via a link. YOu will need to register to view the webinars, this is just so we can get an idea of who many people are using the resource. Each webinar is 45 minutes and introduces the Guide and summarises some of the more pertinent legislation Farmers are interested in.
Introduction to the freshwater legislative landscape, freshwater farm plan and critical source area regulations
Introduction to effluent, stock exclusion and works around waterways regulations.
(We strongly recommend you watch Freshwater Part 1 before viewing this)
The first part of the webinar gives an introduction to the legislative landscape for animal welfare, regulations that apply to farming, and how to apply good practice based on the five freedoms. The second half goes into the policy and procedures for people on farms, and what you are required to know and do under legislation for people on farms in NZ.
